Biography




At 6 pm, the national curfew went into affect, all the channels on the televisions and electricity where cut off and you would suddenly hear the sirens of the police and the marching of the army soldiers marching down the street. There was a lot of looting and the death toll sky rocketed, hence the reason the curfew was instilled.

Strong Commitment to Helping Others


Growing up in Trinidad the community that I lived in was very close knit. I was taught that when ever your neighbor was without, if you had it, you should share. Even though it was not a value that was heavily instilled and told to my cousins and I on a daily basis, because it was something that was constantly practiced in our household, it began something we learned to do by second nature.... please read for more info.

My Challenge

During my first semester in college, I took several different classes including a Public speaking course. Professor McManimon made sure that we knew how to use power point and gave us constructive criticism to help build our confidence while giving speeches in front an audience.

This was a big thing for me because one of my biggest challenges is speaking publically in a formal setting. Though I’m not perfect at still get anxious when in front of a crowd, I’ve come a long way from when I initially entered her class.
